penstock

Penstocks are used in channels and water structures to control flow. They are designed in three different types: channel-type, wall-type, or weir-type, depending on the installation location. They are also manufactured in two different types: manual or actuator-operated, depending on the control method.

  • Description

The sealing gasket is made of specially designed nitrile rubber that is resistant to friction and oil, and provides double-sided sealing according to AWWA C561-04 standard. The steel components are manufactured entirely from stainless steel. The spindle protection tube is made of polycarbonate material.

In penstocks, the frame and cover structure is designed according to the hydraulic loads to which the cover is exposed. Within this framework, penstocks of the desired size can be manufactured. In manual-type penstocks, a special bearing system is used as standard in the flywheel bearing to reduce the load on the shaft and ensure smooth operation.
